Two of the pillars that underpin Lord’s Taverners Australia are Blind Cricket and Cricket for the Intellectually Impaired. The Hunter branch, in conjunction with organisations servicing the blind and intellectually impaired is holding a come-and-try day at East Maitland on 12th November. The venue is the oval behind Easts Bowling Club. A range of activities will introduce attendees to cricket and a load of fun. Just turn up on the day.
To complete the day a Twenty20 match will be played Newcastle Taverners Over 50s and Maitland Over 50s. Hopefully this will be the first of many veterans cricket matches played in the Maitland area.
